Q&A
-
What days does One Body meet?Saturdays from 10am - 1pm.
-
Why is this program only six weeks long? One Body will actually run consecutively with the school year from September - June however the classes will operate in what we call cycles. This means that we will meet 6 Saturdays consecutively with a few Saturdays off after the 6 week cycle. A new cycle will begin after that. We are structured this way to allow participants to be both part of One Body and enjoy Saturdays with their family and friends without sacrificing one for the other. Subsequent cycles will follow within a few weeks of the previous cycle.
-
What does a typical day at One Body look like for the participants? The day begins exactly at 10am and ends at 1 PM. Each hour participants will focus on one genre of dance or creative arts. Participants will be given a 10 minute break at the top of every hour, and will be provided additional time as needed to complete their meal.
-
Will breakfast and lunch be provided? No. Participants should have breakfast prior to arrival and be ready to begin exactly at 10 AM. Participants should bring their own ready-to-eat lunch as we do not provide any warming devices. We will always provide water and peanut-free granola bars at no cost to the participants.
-
How much will it cost to participate in One Body? The cost to participate in the program is absolutely free!
-
What should I wear to class?Participants will be provided a One Body T-shirt and water bottle at no cost. These are considered required uniform and must be worn and brought to every class. Replacement and/or additional shirts are available for purchase. Please wear your most comfortable black sweatpants, long leggings or basketball shorts. No biker shorts. You are encouraged to wear your most comfy sneakers to be ready to get your dance on. There is additional optional One Body gear available for purchase at any time during the program.
-
What do the proceeds from One Body sales support? All funds generated through the One Body program will go towards program enhancements and development, local travel performances, trips, water and granola bar replenishment. A small portion or the proceeds will be contributed to the church to help support their costs.
-
How old does a participant need to be to join One Body?We have decided not to apply an age limit to passion and commitment. As long as the participant is able to keep up with choreography and committed to their participation, we are happy to have them as part of the team.
-
Will I need to re-register for future cycles?Once you’ve registered for the current year, you are considered registered for all future cycles for that year.
-
Can I register once a cycle has already begun?Yes. However, this means that you will have some catching up to do. It is highly recommended to join as early in the cycle as possible.
-
Can I stay with my child during class?Unfortunately, not. We understand how exciting it can be to watch them develop, and we will be sure to provide you with footage of what the process has been like. We will also prepare a finale performance at the end of the cycle where you can come watch them perform. It will be worth the wait.
